If you don't already know..... I am happy to announce that I am the only Southwest Michigan certified retailer of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. When I started using the milk paint earlier this year I fell in LOVE with it. I use several kinds of paint and milk paint is like no other paint I use. it makes the furniture pieces I paint very unique. As I started sharing my new love affair with my friends and family they had no idea what I was talking about....even my painter friends were unfamiliar with the product. some of the obvious questions were....is there milk in it. While there are a few brands of Milk Paint out there.... that I'm sure are great too....I have just been a fan of Miss Mustard Seed herself and when she started branding the paint I jumped all over it. I knew I wanted to share my knowledge of this paint with you. and when they graciously accepted me into the mmsmp world of chippyness...i was over the moon.
With offering a product you love also comes the need of knowledge. While I'm familiar with the paint by just trial and error AND stalking MMS's tutorials, I decided I needed to get some professional training from whom else....Miss Mustard Seed herself!! I have just returned from a Milk Paint training class in Ellicott City, MD. I learned a wealth of knowledge on the product and am so excited to share it with you by offering all the paint line products and teaching you a few techniques with classes very soon.
miss mustard seed.... marian parsons and little ole me
this is allison from the golden sycamore.....and me
look at all the different techniques and styles you can create.
here we did a sample board that needed a little heat from the sun so we lined them all up on the sidewalk.
the training was 2 full days of not only learning product, hands on workshops but learning and sharing from seasoned shop retailers and was extremely exciting and exhausting at the same time. i met so many wonderful ladies that have become my forever friends. kathy from paint it shabby along with allison from the golden sycamore and so many others were among the attendees.
i now have all the milk paint colors and all the glorious goodness in my booth in coloma, michigan. the new colors include curio, apron strings, dried lavender and eulalie's sky will be available in november. wax pucks and piant mixers will soon be ready too. look for how to's and what if's...coming up in next post.
i will keep you all posted as to when the first paint workshop will be. i'm so excited to share the paint goodness with you.
thanks for stopping by today....have a super duper weekend.
