Old Chalkboard Door project!

Today I wanted to share a quick project that I needed for a display piece in my booth.  Super easy and functional!  First the HUNT....gather and load....Yep...loaded all by myself!  I can ALWAYS count on help with the loading at Lowe's or Home Depot but at thrift store....not so much...they just say "good luck!"

Getting large pieces into your vehicle can sometimes be a challenge...especially when it's already full of treasures!  You have to be creative sometimes and your kids have to duck down all the way home!!

Ok...to start I had to decide whether I wanted to just paint over the whole thing or take a layer or two off.  I notice some red popping thru so I put a good slathering of Strypeeze on it and let her do her thing.  It was so random where the white paint came off...just as I suspected some red came thru....wahoo...then it started to randomly crackle.  Way cool!  I sure wish you could see it up close.

What color do I pick?  With that Red showing thru I picked MMS milk paint Flo Blue!

I used Rust-Oleum Chalk Board latex paint for the inside panels.  This stuff has to be shaken up very well.

Yep, it needs 2 coats!  Then to prime for chalk you have to let it cure for 3 days then take a piece of chalk on it's side and cover the entire chalk board piece then wipe clean with a damp cloth then repeat.

Voila...there you have it!  All finished and in it's home!

You all have a great day and Thanks for stopping by and visiting!

Booth 172..announcement!!

I am so excited to tell you that all my hunting, junkin and madness has finally moved from my garage, basement, kitchen table and mom's barn... and found a home for display.  I now have my very own treasure booth (172) at Great Lakes Antique Mall in Coloma, Michigan....and LOVIN it!! My collection is definitely not all antiques...(which I'm learning very quickly that the true antique collectors are not digging the fact that I'm painting some of these rare and expensive treasures)...we also have recycled, revived and rescued goods that are sure to grab your eye!  My love for painting out dated-preloved furniture is a passion of mine and will always be in the store.  Your furniture can be upcycled too with a custom color for your own space....just ask us how!

I just moved in this past week and have much to do yet.  I'm realizing how very small a booth really is....thinking already that Copper Roof Interiors llc needs more space.  Hmmm....let's see how it goes and go from there.  In the meantime I have much to do and get to.  Visit often as it is ever changing and there will also be monthly drawings for give aways!  Here are a few pics of yesterday's madness!

Is that chalk paint or milk paint on that mirror I see?

Goodies, goodies and more goodies!!

Home decor galore!

More to come in the next few days!

To all my local friends, family and followers....take a minute or 2 and stop by Great Lakes Antique Mall...located behind the McDonald's...it's sure to surprise you!  Keep a watch for the Christmas Open House in December!  Thanks for stopping by and showing your support!
